I am a person-centred Integrative Counsellor which means I work in an holistic way but use different approaches such as CBT techniques to support you in your counselling journey.
I use Empathy, Unconditional Positive Regard and Congruence in my sessions to help give you a warm and safe space where you can talk freely about your thoughts, feelings, experiences and worries. By taking a person-centred approach I feel this fosters a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your thoughts and emotions on a deeper level.
Person-centered counselling has many benefits such as you being at the heart of the therapeutic process, freedom to speak freely without judgment, developing enhanced self-awareness, increased self-esteem/confidence and Improved emotional regulation.
Empathy fosters genuine connections by allowing individuals to step into the emotional shoes of others, resulting in a profound understanding of their perspectives and emotions. I use empathy to develop a deeper level of understanding, paving the way for authentic and heartfelt acts of kindness that stem from a place of true compassion rather than obligation.
This fundamental principle in therapy creates a safe space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions without fear of criticism or rejection. By embodying Unconditional Positive Regard, I aim to foster trust and encourage clients to be authentic, which in term promotes growth and self-discovery in the therapeutic process. This unwavering acceptance forms the cornerstone of a therapeutic relationship built on empathy and understanding.
This authenticity creates a safe space where clients feel heard and understood, enhancing the therapeutic relationship. When a counsellor practices congruence, it fosters trust and openness, paving the way for meaningful conversations and insights to emerge. This genuine connection forms the foundation for impactful and transformative counseling sessions, where clients can explore their emotions and experiences with confidence and support.
