I have experience working with local Mental Health Charities in Bourne and Lincolnshire, as well as, counselling experience in a GP Surgery.

Outside of counselling I enjoy being in nature and often enjoy exploring new walking routes. I also enjoy photography and love to learn new techniques whilst exploring new places.

I aim to give young people and adults a safe and confidential space to help them explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies and improve their overall wellbeing.

Counselling can help individuals manage stress, anxiety and other emotional challenges such as bullying, grief and loss. Counselling can also help improve communication and interpersonal skills, as well as, building self-esteem and confidence.

During the counselling sessions I offer young people and adults the option to work creatively if they would find this beneficial. Some young people and adults find it helpful to talk and work creatively at the same time to aid the therapeutic relationship and process. .

Below are some of the areas that I work with:

My Approach

I am a Person-Centred Integrative Counsellor which means I work in an holistic way but use different approaches such as CBT techniques to support you in your counselling journey. I am also a Registered Member of the BACP which means I strive to work in a safe and ethical way.

Person-centered counselling has many benefits such as you being at the heart of the therapeutic process, freedom to speak freely without judgment, developing enhanced self-awareness, increased self-esteem/confidence and Improved emotional regulation.

I use Empathy, Unconditional Positive Regard and Congruence in my sessions to help give you a warm and safe space where you can talk freely about your thoughts, feelings, experiences and worries. By taking a person-centred approach I feel this fosters a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your thoughts and emotions on a deeper level.

I understand that life can be stressful and overwhelming. It can leave us feeling vulnerable, anxious and scared. If you are struggling with a past or present event, anxious about the future, or just need someone to talk to, then I can help. You are not alone.

What is Empathy, Unconditional Positive Regard and Congruence?

These are the core conditions I use as a counsellor in the therapy room.

  1. Empathy fosters genuine connection by allowing me to step into the emotional shoes of others, resulting in a deeper understanding of their perspectives and emotions.
  2. Unconditional Positive Regard creates a safe space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions without fear of criticism or rejection. By embodying Unconditional Positive Regard, I aim to foster trust and encourage clients to be authentic, which in term promotes growth and self-discovery in the therapeutic process.
  3. Congruence creates a safe space where clients feel heard and understood, enhancing the therapeutic relationship.  I use congruence as it enables trust and openness, paving the way for meaningful conversations and insights.
